Srivaikundam Srivaikundanatha Perumal Temple - Adhiseshan as His Hood
As a thanking gesture,
Lord Brahma Devar himself leads the "Brahmothsavam" in Sreevaikundam in the month of
Chitrai (April - May)
The Almighty is also worshipped as "Kallapiran". Kallan means a thief.
Once there was a thief named Kaaladooshan. He had a practice of worshipping
Vaikundanathan before venturing out on his daily tasks every day and he also
had a practice of sharing half of his earnings with the Lord at the end of each day.
Once he stole some precious ornaments and things from King's palace. But unfortunately,
he was caught up by the palace authorities. They brought him to the palace and made
to stand infront of the king. Without knowing what to do, he meditated on
Sri Vaikundanathan, in his mind and heart. Since, the Almighty got the things from the thief, he occupied entirely in the heart the minds of him. After this, he explained the "Aathma Gnana" followings to the king. The voice and the appearance belongs to the thief, Kaaladooshan, but the explaination of the Gnana was told by Sri Vaikundanathan. After hearing this, the Almighty gave dharshan to both. Realizing his mistake, the king later distributed the wealth of his kingdom to his people. Having disguised himself as a thief, Almighty is also worshipped as "KallaPiran". Adhiseshan as His Hood - Usually Adhiseshan serve as His Bed on His Reclining Postures where as Only here in Sreevaikundam, devotees can worship the Almighty in His Grand standing Posture and Adhiseshan as His hood, which is very unique. Another unique feature of this temple is that the Sun

Chithrai and 6th day of Aipasi. This is the One and Only Divyadesam where
